Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

PITCH is The Athlete Network. Athletes, coaches and multi-sport (hybrid) members build a profile, share their results and get discovered. Clubs, teams, academies and nonprofits run organization pages alongside them. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use and store it, and the control and rights you have over it.

2. What data we collect

• Account data: your name, username (handle), email address and password.
• Profile type: whether your profile is an athlete, a coach or hybrid / multi-sport. Coaches can additionally add a coaching specialty, years of experience and a "looking for players" status.
• Profile data: headline, sport, position, city, state, country, age, gender, height, weight, profile photo, cover photo, intro video, career history, honors, community involvement and stats — only what you choose to add. Height, weight, gender, age, city and state are optional; height, weight and gender stay hidden from other users unless you turn the "show on profile" switch on.
• Organization page data: when you create an organization (club, team, academy, nonprofit or other), we store its name, handle, type, sport(s), location, description, website, logo and cover photo, plus the list of people who manage it and their role (owner or admin).
• Content you create: posts (text, images, videos, video cover frames, links and an optional location tag), comments, likes, mentions of other users, follows, volunteer opportunities you publish and reports you submit about other content.
• Direct messages: the conversations you take part in, the messages you send and any media or shared posts attached to them.
• Notifications: records of likes, comments, follows, mentions and new messages so we can show them in your notifications feed.
• Technical data: basic device, browser and log information needed to keep the service running and secure.

3. How we use your data

• To create and maintain your account, your profile and any organization pages you own or help manage.
• To show your posts, comments and activity to other users on PITCH.
• To help scouts, clubs, coaches, organizations and other athletes discover you through search and the Discover tabs (Athletes, Coaches, Organizations) and their sport, position and location filters.
• To deliver your direct messages to the people you're talking to, and to notify you about likes, comments, follows, mentions and new messages.
• To run the community volunteer database — showing opportunities you post, and recommending nearby opportunities that match your sport and location.
• To review reports and keep the platform safe — preventing abuse, fraud and policy violations.
• To send essential account notifications (for example: confirmation and security emails).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show third-party advertising inside PITCH.

4. What's public vs private

Profiles, organization pages, posts, comments, follows, volunteer opportunities and uploaded media are visible to other users on PITCH — that's the point of a professional network. Your email, password and any optional fields you've chosen to hide (height, weight, gender) are private, and you can change those switches or clear those fields at any time. Age and precise city/state are only shown to you on your own profile.

Direct messages are private between the participants of a conversation. No one else on PITCH can read them. We do not use the content of your messages for anything other than delivering them, and we access them only where strictly necessary to investigate a report or comply with the law. Reports you submit are confidential and visible only to PITCH for review.

5. Media uploads

When you upload images or videos to posts, profile photos, cover photos or organization logos and covers, those files are stored on our cloud media storage and served back to viewers on PITCH through short-lived links. Videos may also store a cover frame you pick or that we generate from the video. If you add a location to a post, that location is shown publicly with the post. Don't upload media you don't have the right to share.

6. Organization pages and multi-admin management

The user who creates an organization page is its owner. The owner can invite other PITCH users as admins, and can remove them or transfer ownership. Owners and admins can edit the page, switch their identity to "act as" the organization and publish posts and volunteer opportunities on its behalf; only the owner can manage members or delete the page. Anyone managing an organization can see the other members of that organization. Posts published from an organization page are clearly labeled as coming from that organization, not from the individual who wrote them. Deleting the owner's account also deletes the organization pages they own.

7. Volunteer opportunities

Any signed-in user can publish a volunteer opportunity — as themselves or as an organization they manage. Everything you enter (title, description, sport or area, location, date and time, and the contact details you provide such as an email address, phone number or link) is public on the volunteer database and on the opportunity's detail page. Only include contact information you're happy to publish. You can edit or delete an opportunity you posted at any time.

8. Messages, notifications and follows

Direct messages are one-to-one conversations, readable only by the participants; you can send text, media and shared posts. We generate notifications when someone likes or comments on your content, follows you, mentions you with an @handle or sends you a message. Your follows and followers, and the follower counts of profiles and organizations, are visible on PITCH.

9. Reporting content

You can report a post, comment, athlete profile or organization page from the "..." menu. Reports include the reason (spam, harassment, inappropriate content, fake profile or other) and an optional note. We use reports to review and act on content that breaks our rules.

10. How we store and protect data

Your data is stored on secured cloud infrastructure. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to the database is controlled by row-level security so users can only modify their own data, messages are readable only by conversation participants, and sensitive optional fields (height, weight, gender, age, city, state) are filtered out for anyone other than you. Uploaded media is served through short-lived signed links, and all traffic uses HTTPS.

11. How long we keep data

We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account exists. Content you create — posts, comments, media, volunteer opportunities — stays until you delete it or delete your account. Messages are kept until deleted by their conversation; a copy may remain visible to the other participant. Notifications are kept for a limited period and then cleared. When you delete your account, your data is removed from the live service; residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a short period before being overwritten. Reports and limited safety records may be retained longer where needed to enforce our rules or comply with the law.

12. Your rights and controls

You can, at any time:

• View and edit your profile (athlete, coach or hybrid) and any organization pages you own or manage.
• Choose which optional fields (height, weight, gender) are visible to other users, and leave age, city or state blank.
• Delete posts, comments, awards, media items, volunteer opportunities and other content you've added.
• Report content from other users that breaks our rules.
• Delete your account and all data associated with it — including your profile, organization pages you own, posts, comments, volunteer opportunities, messages, follows and uploaded media. Deletion is permanent.
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us.

13. Children

PITCH is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

14. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email.
